What’s My Pro-Life Line?

We suggest things you can say to promote and defend the pro-life position with love and kindness.

Person 1: What does “pro-life” mean? Person 2 (our hero): It means I think we all deserve basic human rights even before we’re born. I oppose abortion; I think we should use nonviolent means to support pregnant women.

Abortion is a huge topic! Each of our posts tackles only a tiny piece of the conversation.

Person 1: Nobody knows when life begins. Person 2 (our hero): I want to be sure I know what you mean by that. Are you talking about the start of a biological organism? Or the start of a valuable person?

We encourage friendly, healthy dialogues. We want people to explore the issue together without fighting.

Person 1: I don’t regret my abortion. Person 2 (our hero): I’m glad you’re okay. If you’re willing to share, I’d be interested to hear what led you to seek an abortion.

Our posts can help you think and talk about the issue in new and deeper ways.

Person 1: A fetus isn’t even aware of its surroundings. Person 2 (our hero): That’s true, but neither are people who are passed out from drinking too much. We should still take care of them though.

Even the most experienced advocates sometimes aren’t sure how to respond to things people say about abortion.

Person 1: ...so that’s why I’m not convinced. Person 2 (our hero): You made some really good arguments. I’ve never thought about it that way. Can we talk again after I’ve had some time to study this more?

We want to help you confidently engage with your peers and promote the rights of the preborn.

Our hero: I know abortion is a difficult subject, but I’d love to have a calm and reasonable conversation with you. I know we both want to help people, and we both want to do what’s right. I bet we can both learn from each other!

Explore our examples so you’ll be ready to address the unique perspectives of the people around you.

Person 1: I’m pro-choice because I care about women’s health. Person 2 (our hero): I want people to get the healthcare they need, too. But I think the mother and fetus are both patients who deserve care.

People disagree about abortion for lots of different reasons. We’ve tagged our posts to help you browse them.
